Our chapter is looking for members interested in more! Would you be interested in learning one of the board member positions and their responsibilities? Learn from the current board member to cover in the event they are out of town, step into the position if the current board member steps down, or assist with the regular tasks. See descriptions below. *

President - responsible for supervising the overall activities of the Chapter and for ensuring that it acts in accordance with the ASTA Bylaws and the policies adopted by the ASTA Board of Directors. The President presides over all meetings of the Chapter and its Executive Board. The President is appointed by a selection committee in accordance with the procedures set forth in the ASTA Bylaws. Vice President - responsible for assisting the President in the performance of his or her duties and may perform the duties of the President in the President’s absence or during any period of disability. Treasurer - responsible for keeping records of the finances of the Chapter, including the collection and proper maintenance of Chapter funds. The Treasurer is responsible for producing the annual year-end financial statement for the Chapter covering his/her last fiscal year in office. Secretary - responsible for the record-keeping duties of the Chapter, including sending notices to members and maintaining minutes of all Chapter meetings. Social Media & Technology - responsible for maintaining and updating all social media platforms with chapter information and events. Membership -The Membership chair is responsible maintain a current membership roster, notifying members when their membership is up for renewal and working with members and ASTA National Membership staff in assist with renewals. Young Professionals Society Rep (YPS) - responsible for facilitating the integration of the YPS membership into the existing local chapter structure and must satisfy the eligibility criteria (under 40 years of age) for YPS membership to hold the office. ASTAPAC – Responsible for advising members of legal issues that ASTA is working on and with overlapping oversite with the Fundraising Committee to raise money for ASTAPAC. (See Fundraising Committee) Not Interested at this time

Looking for members interested in joining planning committees. Are you enthusiastic about your speciality? Do you want to get more involved to share your knowledge? Do you enjoy planning events with a team of other enthusiastic individuals? *

Presentation Events/Meeting Coordinator - plan destination meetings including coordinating with suppliers, locating and booking a venue for 60+ attendees or setting up zoom with approval from the board, set up giveaway prizes from suppliers, and coordinate with the social media specialist to post and email the members Fundraising Committee – Coordinating with the different committee to fundraise for the chapter (funding is used for chapter costs, i.e., paying educational presenters, the chapter’s ASTAPAC donation, monthly operation fees, etc.) Educational Committee – Arranging educational meetings to help members gain knowledge of professional development, technology tools & services, professional office services, and social media skills. Coordinating with presenters, locating, and booking a venue or setting up zoom with approval from the board, set up giveaway prizes from suppliers, and coordinate with the social media specialist to post and email the members.
